Overview
Each day is a bit different but typically includes some Focus On sessions, some talks, doing some tasks in support of the team (which could be documents drafting, attending client calls and taking notes, proofreading and legal research).
Skills
Definitely, my commercial awareness has been developed by observing how lawyers gave advices to clients, hearing their perspectives on the market, and looking into recent deals the firm has done.
Business Insight
The Focus On sessions and panel talks were really insightful and helpful for us to understand the business and different areas better because they brought different lawyers from various practice areas at different stages of their careers.
Culture
The firm indeed has a incredibly nice culture! Everyone I encountered is super friendly, patient and approachable. When we were reaching out to people to have interviews in preparation for our group task, the lawyers were all willing to make time to talk us through the deal and help us to grasp the key parts of the deal.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks scheme with Taylor Wessing! I think there's a good blend of events, talks, socials and variety of works during the two weeks. The works I've been given also have good variety even though my two seats are both corporate! For example, I was doing more drafting and due diligence in my first seat, and got the chance to attend client calls and do research in my second one.
