Overview
The week consisted of presentations from senior leadership, and also presentations from practice areas such as Disputes and Corporate. The main tasks were set by trainers, which were usually research/proofreading work.
Skills
I have learnt how to organise information more clearly, especially in tables and reports. Also, the week taught me not to be too nervous to ask for help/clarification.
Business Insight
I think it was so useful to be in the work environment and see how teams work in real-time. I was able to talk to trainees, associates, personal assistants and IT people all on the same floor, which was very enlightening.
Culture
Although everyone works hard, it was good to see people laugh and have fun. Also, the location of the office was very social and full of people and nice views, so it was enjoyable and not as isolating as I would have thought.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it to a large extent because of the schedule and the variety of work we got to do. Also the cohort of people were so amazing and lovely.
Yes
To speak to someone at the firm if they can, because it helps answer any questions and also to get into the mind of a trainee.
