    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • A day-to-day would look a bit different each day, but a rough outline would be: - I would head into the office at 9am and enjoy free breakfast - I start my day at 9:30am. I would normally clarify my schedule with my supervisor and any tasks I have. The day would continue with a mixture of: - coffee chats - scheduled seminars (on each practice area) - meetings with my team members for our group presentations - tasks in the department I would normally go home at around 6pm.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned: - time management (as I balanced competing demands) - legal skills (many of the tasks I did required sifting through documents and picking out relevant aspects) - drafting (I drafted disclosure statements) - teamwork (working with my team on the group presentation) - presentation skills (having to present on a topic in front of an audience with a limited time)

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • This is actually the best culture I saw. Everyone was super friendly. Everyone was very generous with their time and gave you the attention and support you needed. This is definitely a massive selling point of the firm, and everyone feels this way. I actually felt energised going back home, not tired because the culture was great.
