Overview
On a day to day basis my time is split between working in the lab, setting up and running tests and in the office carrying out data analysis and writing up reports
Skills
Yes, I have developed my engineering knowledge when designing and carrying out my own testing plans and developed my programming skills by learning how to code to assist with data analysis.
Responsibilities
I was given full responsibility of my own projects that I would run myself and I would also be part of other projects where I was required to contribute.
Support & Guidance
I had weekly catch ups with my manager and if I needed any assistance I was able to ask anyone on the team and they would help.
Culture
The company culture and atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, it is a nice place to work and it doesn't feel too stressful
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement a lot, I felt like I learnt a lot and was well supported
Yes
Cummins has many branches and teams that specialise in a wide range of things across the country, it's worth taking into account if you are more interested in engines, then work for Cummins, and if you are interested in batteries etc., then working for Accelera by Cummins. The application process is exactly the same but the placements vary widely.
