    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a Creative Intern, I split my time between producing promos for EMEA channels and overseeing production for campaigns in South Africa. I spent six months on Universal TV before transitioning to Studio Universal. My responsibilities included scheduling voiceover sessions, booking audio mixes and exports, and managing the post-production process. Creatively, I scripted, edited, and added graphics for promos ranging from 15 to 60 seconds, ensuring each aligned with the brand鈥檚 identity and delivered strong on-air impact.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • During my placement, I鈥檝e developed a wide range of skills, both practical and creative. I鈥檝e improved my organisation, time management, and ability to work to tight deadlines. I鈥檝e also gained experience in scheduling, finance, and using Excel. Creatively, I鈥檝e become confident using Avid to craft engaging promos and have significantly developed my sound design abilities.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility, I was in charge of the production for Studio Universal for the first 6 month and Universal tv for the final 6 months, I saw the full process of On-Air promos from conception to completion and final delivery. I was also responsible for cutting promos that effectively marketed the films / TV shows being aired on the EMEA channels, while also maintaining the brand identity of those channels.
