Overview
- Leading weekly calls between GSK and a specific customer we have a contracted supply agreement with. - Managing the relationship between GSK and said customer via emails, logging any issues the might have with orders (manufacturing specifications, delivery dates/quantity change, demand drop, stock outs etc.) in our issue log and resolving issues by liaising with secondary manufacturing sites which handle the production and delivery of orders for this customer. - Ensure order book is up-to-date (file with all open orders from the customer, confirmed by GSK)
Skills
Yes, lots. The central focus of my role is communication: Day-to-day I am speaking with external and internal stakeholders to ensure our customers needs are met but that our sites are looked after so this was a skilled i developed in. - Time management and learning how to multitask effectively - Project management - Initiative: learning how to foresee some issues before they arise and tackling them accordingly.
Responsibilities
Yes. It took a little while at the start but it all boils down to you taking initiative and showing that you are interested, willing and capable of performing certain tasks even though you may have never done it before. Showing that you're interested and have passion for improving skills in a certain area makes people eager to help you grow and more willing to trust you with projects.
Support & Guidance
Everyone at GSK is always so happy to help. I was never turned down or rejected when I asked for help and sometimes even without asking, help was offered.
Culture
Very easygoing and calm. Everyone believes in each others abilities and will always lean on one another if there is an issue.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement very much, I even opted to say for an extra month! It was that great.
Yes
Let your true personality shine because GSK accepts people for their truest selves and not only for what skills or experience they have to offer. Do lots of research on the company and really be passionate about the work that we do because that is the central focus, patients.
