The Role
Enjoy my job... compared to uni and social life, a lot! in terms of tasks, not as much as i would have liked!
Team were very willing to keep you busy and share their responsiblities
Always willing to help, can be quite intimidating
At the start, not at all, but it got better as the placement progressed
There were always people around who were willing to help you, and spend time to explain programs and procedures
interpersonal skills learnt definitely helped in final yr - a good insight into the world of work in terms of office politics and what to expect when i graduate
The Company
people make the work enjoyable. If you havent got a dynamic team i suggest you move... it makes a huge difference!
At the beginning, very poorly organised, didnt truelly settle in until 4 months into the placement..could have been a lot better
There are so many opportunities that are offered in terms of learning beyond your department i.e computer courses, presentations, set up mentors... the first 3 weeks were set up on training and regular checks on progress were conducted
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
You can extend your placement dependent on your performance. They do an evaluation on your time spent there at the end, and whether you were good or not, offer you a place on the graduate programme for the following year
The Culture
Had a chat room set up for the industrial placement 西瓜视频s only. Opportunity to meet up and share experiences.
Considering how much you were getting paid and the location you were working in, it was ok. You spend just as much as you earn!
Didnt interest me. I was not prepared to work 9/10 hrs a day and then spend more time at my own will..NO!
Activities outside work? i am not sure. I know there were many opportunities to join the gym, societies, network groups, sports teams, Xmas play...
