Yes, my responsibility continuously grew throughout my placement year. I was given more responsibility after I reached my mid-way point, whereby I was given more work and shorter deadlines. I also began to work more independently throughout my placement year when my knowledge and skillset grew.
Support & Guidance
1. Recieved a mentor at the start of my placement - I was able to ask them questions about career progression/ask for advice on how to deal with certain situtiatons that I was unfamiliar with 2. Recieved a buddy who was there to support me throughout my placement and to have a familiar face/contact to speak to during my placement year 3. My team and manager was highly supportive during my placement year and willing to take the time to explain complex concepts to me and to support me on various projects I was working on
Culture
1. Very inviting and people are willing to take the time to explain their role and purpose in the firm 2. The giving back culture is very strong. The firm ensures everyone partakes in volunteering and this was something I particularly enjoyed during my placement year whereby I had the opportunity to volunteer at a variety of charity organisations/events.

Make sure you understand the firms core values as this is the most central thing in the firm and find ways that you can align to them. Its not just about the knowledge you possess but also the person you are - will you fit into the team, do you align to the core values and so on. Ensure that you show both your knowledge side but also your personality and your full professional self. Be sure to do your research on the role and have examples for competency and skills based questions.
