    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The Spring Week (Experience the Markets) has been an extremely insightful program that was run in a perfect manner by HR - feedback from peers who interned at other institutions and my own other spring experiences left me thinking that this has to be one if not THE best program you can get into to discover the banking industry.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • From day 1, HR was really supportive and the business representatives who came to talk to us were always very opened for further contact. We were also assigned a "mentor" with whom we had a chance to meet a few times during the week.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • All the activities & assessment were clearly explained in advance. At no point in time did I feel lost in the program.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As a Finance major, most of the skills learnt on the program will be valuable for my degree. Non-finance major will still find it interesting to use the acquired networking skills on their day-to-day life and will definitely feel more comfortable about breaking into IB

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • HR made a great job to fill our days from morning (as early as 6.30 on occasions) to evening (we were finishing around 8.30pm on average) with plenty of lectures, workshops, rotations and networking events.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • People taking part in the program had really interesting backgrounds, were smart and very approachable. Same goes to JPM employees.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was really surprised to see how much JPM was doing for its spring interns. We had a chance to meet with employees from across all the Markets teams and from different hierarchy levels (analyst to heads of departments), and ask them all the questions we may have had. The lectures were also really educative and I learnt a lot about product groups and the different businesses within the bank.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Discussing with freshly recruited analysts as well as more experienced employees helped me understand how my role may vary within the bank through my career, which is extremely valuable for when it comes to choosing your workplace.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The "pillars" of JP Morgan were very apparent throughout the whole program, the culture is definitely at the centre of the company.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I came in the program with a fixed idea about what I would want to do in the Bank from my limited knowledge of the industry, and after having spent a week learning about how broader the activities of the Bank are I can tell that my view as been challenged significantly. I now have a much clearer idea of how the bank operates and where I would best fit in.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I wasn't reimbursed expenses because I live in London already, but people flying from all over the world were paid their travel expenses + accomodation.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Plenty throughout the week, from senior management to very junior employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Had a few different events organised during the week so we could tailor our questions to the audience we were meeting with in advance.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There's quite a few clubs that employees can join and a number of activities including charity-related ones that are open for workers at the firm.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • In one word, YES.
