About You
Provided a real insight into Investment Banking and accurately explained the roles of various jobs within the firm. If you are interested in IB then this program significantly improves your knowledge and provides you with the opportunity to learn from people within the industry.
In any activity I took part in, both the staff and the other interns listened to my points and seemed genuinely interested.
We were each assigned a mentor and this really helps you settle into the program and instantly have a contact that you can ask questions to.
This week exposed to me how important it is to work on something that you find interesting rather than something that just looks good because you will be able to work far harder on the subject that you enjoy. This will affect my module choice next year.
The Company
Extremely well organized scheme - I didn't feel bored once during the whole program as there was so much to do.
Really friendly staff and the other interns were also very nice people.
Employees of the firm dedicated their time to coming to talk to us and they were all kind enough to answer any further questions if you had them, so I would say the company invested a substantial amount of time into this program.
Gave an overview of nearly all roles and then provided the opportunity for you to network with someone within these roles if you wanted to find out more.
Multiple networking events to talk to employees from different roles to see where you could fit in best in terms of work culture.
Confirmed to me that this is the industry I would like to work in.
Everything Else
You were reimbursed travel expenses and were provided breakfast and lunch every day.
Every day there was the opportunity to network - this was a key part of what made the week so valuable.
Very good, many employees would be open to meeting you for coffee to answer more of your questions.
Yes, there were many Q+A sessions where these type of questions could be asked and they were very insightful.
Yes, I really enjoyed my time there and I am sure that everyone else did as well.
