About You
A lot of volume of information to handle in three days but really fun and insightful.
I felt like I was taken care of.
I knew where and when I am required to be at all times, the bank provided couch service from and to the hotel as well as to the train station after the last session, clear timetable for all three days, maps, contact details of other people that attended the insight day, etc.
Information about the Software Development methodologies used within the bank which was discussed with us will be useful when applying for the grad placement and will help in the job if successful.
The Company
From start to finish everything was extremely well structured.
All the speakers from current graduates to senior directors were very friendly, answered all the questions extensively. The HR staff did a very good job running the event as I felt engaged most of the time.
There were not many opportunities for personal training, although we did two 1.5hr long work shadowing sessions. We did a few group exercises to help us better understand the concepts explained in the presentations.
We had a chance to speak with current graduates working in the bank and some senior people as well.
The panel events were relatively informal and I felt like I was given honest answers about company's culture with some examples as well.
I personally knew what I will be doing before the event and so it did not have a major impact. However, it seemed that for many others it did.
Everything Else
The company is using a travel booking agency to book trips over £25 for you. Hence, I did not have to pay for my flights at all. Tickets under £25 are not reimbursed immediately but the expenses can be claimed after the event.
We had a networking event where we went out to a bar for some free drinks and had a chance so speak with current employees of the company (grads, HR, full time) from various fields. We had plenty of opportunities to ask questions during the panel events as well.

We had a whole presentation on what you can do outside work in the bank and in the town in general.
Simply Yes.
