About You
- An unforgettable week, with a great group of people, Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs and J.P. Morgan employees alike.
- We were invited to share our ideas on any aspect of information that we had been told, which demonstrated that our opinions were valued by the staff. - We also worked in teams to create presentations on key issues, to be judged by a panel of senior staff. It really seemed that our responses to these issues were taken on board.
- I felt that I received a fantastic amount of support, before, during and after the insight.
- Several skills workshops were run, focussing on different aspects of ourselves - These workshops were particularly helpful, as they included self awareness and personal development, communication and teamwork games and CV writing/applications advice. - These are transferrable to any industry and any job, and I feel that they are areas which are often neglected in mainstream education.
The Company
- Great variation of activities and insight experiences, from networking events and games to talks and workshops. - Every session was well planned to last the right length of time- not too long, but enough to give us a firm idea of the relevant division. - Could have included more work shadowing time, however I do understand that this is difficult to squeeze into such a well packed week.
- All the graduate recruitment team and the staff were very friendly and I felt I could approach them with any queries. - Brief interactions with other members of staff, for example when entering and leaving the building, or asking for directions, gave a good indication that the atmosphere at J.P. Morgan is particularly welcoming and collegiate.
- We had workshops every day and skills sessions to ensure that we developed our own skills, and were not just learning about the company.
- I feel that whichever role I were to go into at the firm, I would fully understand the role, its requirements, advantages and disadvantages.
- Being immersed into the company, constantly surrounded by employees and staff, many of whom had been working there for many years, gave a great indication of the value JPM place on core values, such as integrity, honesty and teamwork.
- I now feel that I am certain and resolute in my choice of career path and particular line of business. - This choice has changed hugely from my perspective before the internship, and so I have particularly valued that aspect.
Everything Else
- I was also given a room in a hotel with the other interns, which allowed us to socialise and network amongst ourselves. - This created a much more relaxed and confident atmosphere when we were in the workplace.
- We enjoyed networking sessions every day, whether over lunch or through talks and question panels with recent graduates and staff.
- It was really useful to find out from recent graduates or senior staff their experiences at the firm, their career paths and receive some valuable advice on how to make our own decisions for the future.
- We enjoyed various talks about the social aspect of the firm, both internally organised (such as sports teams) and external links (such as community work). - This drew me to the firm as it highlighted their interest in ensuring that employees enjoy a balanced and rewarding lifestyle, alongside strong performance in their career.
- Definitely, I felt that I benefitted hugely from attending this programme. - I would hope that my friends could gain the same insight into the industry and preparation for the future.
