The Role
Had a great time with BAE, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made coming into work an enjoyable experience. The work itself was always interesting and if you ever encountered any problems, there was always someone in the office you could approach for advice.
I felt like they appreciated the work I was doing but they were not afraid to tell you if they wanted something done a bit differently
If I ever had any problems, they would always make themselves available to offer advice or point me in the right direction.
There were ups and downs of workload, some weeks I would be working solidly and others I would be struggling to find things to do.
I always felt that the work I was doing had a real world purpose, and weekly progress meetings made sure that I was always on top of the work. They placed strict deadlines on a lot of what I was working on.
I learnt an awful lot from my experience, and most of it was in the business side of things. I learnt a lot about how a workplace operates, how to manage my time more effectively and how to communicate to others around the office.
The Company
The office was often lively, helped by the fact that there were numerous other interns and graduates about who were all very friendly. Obviously everybody was primarily focused on their work.
Once we arrived it took a little bit of time for everything to settle, but once we had everything ran smoothly. I had my own project manager who I would report to every week.
Being a Summer Intern, there wasn't much opportunity for the company to specifically train me in anything in particular, but they offered advice and support when I needed to learn something specific for my task.
Subsidised Canteen
The company have a very successful graduate scheme which is growing and evolving all of the time, and you could really notice the shift starting to happen between the companies senior members and those who had been on the graduate scheme a few years ago.
The Culture
It is a relatively expensive area compared to some other places, but coming from London I found the prices to be very reasonable! There are plenty of 西瓜视频 offers and discounts if you know where to go!
There was a very large choice and there was definitely something for everybody! I went on suite a few nights out in the area.
