Overview
Mainly assisting with team-based monthly tasks. For example, the billing cycle and payables targets. I also had a lot of project work, which was less aligned with recurring processes. On a day-to-day basis, this meant balancing different tasks and communicating with different teams. Examples: reviewing and presenting invoices weekly, for approval and payment, dispatching invoices to clients monthly, completing analysis of our ESG score.
Skills
I learned many new skills, such as: Microsoft Excel proficiency Understanding the accounting process Soft skills - in a work environment Time management Presentation skills Stakeholder communication/engagement Data analysis
Responsibilities
Yes, I felt that the roles & projects I was given were of importance to the department and the company. I also felt that my opinion was respected when it came to things like process innovation.
Support & Guidance
More than enough - everyone in the department is very friendly and supportive. If I ever had a question, there was always someone to ask, and I received frequent guidance/check-ins throughout my time at FDM.
Culture
Very friendly and supportive, whilst also rewarding of good work. It was my first office experience and has set the bar very high! I always looked forward to heading into the office, but there was good flexibility around WFH too.
Your Impressions
To the fullest extent - it鈥檚 a great department in a brilliant company. The work I did was meaningful, and the people around me made it very enjoyable.
