Overview
In the mornings, we would usually have interactive presentations or workshops delivered by the firm's different practice areas such as Disputes, Global Financial Markets, Finance and Corporate. During 'desk time', I assisted my trainer with a transaction he was working on. I was well-integrated into the team and was given meaningful tasks. Throughout the scheme, there were also many networking lunches and socials to get to know more people at the firm as well as fellow Vacation Scheme participants.
Skills
I have developed my time management skills as we had to work on a group project throughout the scheme. I have also strengthened my communication, drafting, research and public speaking skills as well as my attention to detail.
Business Insight
The Vacation Scheme provided me with valuable insight into all aspects of the firm, from the day-to-day work and the firm's long-term growth strategy to the firm's culture with its various affinity networks and pro bono initiatives.
Culture
Everyone I met was very friendly and generous with their time. My trainer was also incredibly supportive. It felt like a diverse environment where everyone was valued for who they were.

I had a fantastic experience: not only did I learn a lot and built new skills, but I also met many great people that I look forward to staying in touch with.

I would recommend that prospective applicants research the firm not only through its website but also by attending any online events organised by the firm and reaching out to people who have had direct contact with the firm.
