Overview
My role is to help out with projects ongoing in the department; from mechanical to controls to vision systems and excel documents. The projects will involve tools/robots on the assembly line and making them more efficient.
Skills
I have developed my excel skills (by taking a data analytics course provided by the company) and having projects focus heavily on excel data. I have also managed to develop my coding skills, as BMW is a very digital company.
Responsibilities
Yes. For some of my projects I was the project lead, meaning that I got to take control of the situations and decide on what paths to take. I was also put in charge of changing/updating all the department documents containing important information
Support & Guidance
I had a personal mentor (who was another member of the department) and they helped me whenever I needed it. We had bi-weekly meetings to catch up on my work and answer any questions I may have had
Culture
The general atmosphere was good as everyone within the department got along and respected each other
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my placement as it has given me some real world/hands on experience, preparing me for the future
