    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • A mixture of responsibilities. Some engineering tasks, crucial to programme schedule, were my responsibility, other tasks I was closely guided through by a more senior engineer. I was also given 'Gradmin' responsibilities (like document storage control etc), which are not so crucial, but still important to day-to-day experiences within the team.

  • Consistent forums to raise any questions we may have had. Lots of contact from the Early Careers team. Training is a large part of the culture, they always want to improve the workforce.

  • Positive, despite unfortunate setbacks, progress remained to be the key goal. Development both individually and as a company are the backbone of the BAE Operational Framework

  • Yes


  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems
  • Listen to their advice. GART (team responsible for recruiting Early Careers) provide a lot of useful tips that guide you through the interview process. If you haven't had much Systems Engineering exposure, do some light research, look into the Engineering 'V' lifecycle and common Systems Engineering terms and phrases.
