Overview
Implementing human factors principles into the design of the cockpit and UX research. Ensuring products are safe for human use. Using workplace design, User-centred design (UCD), information and control requirements, human machine interactions and environmental ergonomics alongside psychological considerations such as cognitive workload, stress, vigilance and fatigue.
Skills
Developed my user centred design skills, concepting and research skills. Gained knowledge of aviation and human factors principles and how to apply them into real world scenarios.
Responsibilities
Given multiple tasks to balance at a time. Sometimes given tight deadlines to produce work for the higher ups. Having to present work infront of others and collaborate with multiple teams to produce the desired outcome.
Support & Guidance
Early careers team was very supportive, with regular check ins and the opportunity to reach out whenever. Line manager offered regular check ins and support with tasks whenever needed. The whole team was willing to help eachother at all times. Always someone to go to to gain extra knowledge or if stuck with a task.
Culture
Very supportive and positive working environment. Calm working atmosphere where you can adjust to the working style which suits you.
Your Impressions
Very much. Good flexibility and many exciting opportunities such as going flying in a small jet. Very friendly team and many socials outside of work.
Yes
Research the company beforehand, make sure you tailor your interview to the role. Dont just talk about educational knowledge, but incorporate people skills in the interview. Look into long term prospects.
