  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Creating and using software to assess product performance. Day-to-day, the role includes use of CAD and MATLAB, as well as report writing.

  • I have used and improved task management, research, written communication, and presentation skills. In addition, I have gained useful experience using MATLAB.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was tasked with two individual projects during the placement, where I was responsible for managing my own time and tasks with limited supervision. However, there was always help at hand when needed.

  • The team is very supportive and colleagues are very happy to be asked questions. I always felt that my learning and development was strongly valued by the team, and central to my placement experience.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Excellent. Everybody is very friendly and keen to support one another. The wider early careers programme is fantastic, and it clearly holds the learning and development of its members at its core.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my 10 months on placement very much, and it has helped my development of essential skills which I can take back to university. I would recommend it to any STEM 西瓜视频 as an excellent opportunity for a year in industry.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to MBDA
  • Ensure that the roles you apply for are well suited to your interests. You should not just apply to a role because it sounds cool - make sure that the opportunities for skill development in the role description are relevant to you. In the application process, they are looking for someone who will take practical initiative and has a problem-solving mindset. They are not looking for extensive technical knowledge, but for someone who demonstrates eagerness to learn.
