Skills
Lots of excel, corporate office experience, teamwork, organisation.
Responsibilities
Yes- dealing with clients within the first two weeks, even attending stocktakes as the sole representative of the company.
Support & Guidance
Lots, you receive lots of guidance from the audit teams you work with and regular catch ups with your provided line manager
Culture
Its a very friendly you office in Leeds with most team members being under 30- lots of opportunity to socialise and monthly training days where you get to interact with the more senior members of the department.
Your Impressions
Very much so, the work was varied in terms of location and types of companies audited, the people were very friendly and supportive- you get to see all the industries you can go into once you're a qualified accountant and RSM is a great place to do it as they don't over-work their employees as much as higher earning firms and exams are only taken 2 at a time which provides you with a much better chance at passing first time- if I decided to take on the qualification I wouldn't recommend anywhere else more.
Yes
Once you get to the last stage they just want to know that you'd get along with the team and the clients- don't worry about getting the answers right!
