Overview
My main role was to ensure the daily/monthly/quarterl KPI's were maintained correctly, and sent out at the right times. I was a point of call for certain tasks throughout the warehouse, and would be given the opportunity to complete some personal projects.
Skills
I've honed skills in online applications such as SAP and Excel. But I think I've mostly learned from a business/people point of view. This was a fantastic insight into how the business world works, in a myriad of different ways.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given plenty of responsibility, which was fairly nerve wracking at the start, but by being thrown into the deep end a bit I learnt as quickly and as effectively as possible
Support & Guidance
Everyone around me in the office was very helpful, particuarly my line manager. Help was always readily available, but I still was encouraged to learn for myself, which is the best way to do it.
Culture
It's a fantastic place to work. Coming from a working class background, and seeing what the London office was like, it was extremely refreshing to work in an office like the one in Nottingham. Everybody was extremely welcoming and made me feel part of the team straight away, and never denied giving me any help.
Your Impressions
It took a little bit of adjusting too, and unfortunately as I've come into my own a bit and started to enjoy going to work, the placement is about to come to a close. It was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to anyone currently in their second year of university.
Yes
Do you research before applying, and be curious. Try to showcase your personality as much as possible. And if successful, make the most of your time here because there are endless fantastic opportunities that you could easily let pass you by.
