Overview
I'm a marketing intern at Maybelline, where I contribute to diverse marketing and commercial projects that span multiple facets of the brand. My role spans consumer-facing experiential marketing, organizing in-store beauty advisor events to drive consumer education, and supporting the commercial team across various retail partners. In addition, I regularly pull and analyse data for brand performance reports and competitive analysis, providing insights to guide marketing and commercial strategies. My day-to-day involves tracking campaign performance, supporting the team, and contributing to both strategic planning and hands-on implementation.
Skills
During my internship, I鈥檝e gained hands-on experience in managing marketing projects and campaigns鈥攕omething that has been completely different from the theory-based learning I received at university. Early on, I made it a point to ask questions and seek clarification from the team whenever I didn鈥檛 fully understand a process. This approach helped me build a strong foundation, and after supporting several campaigns, I was given the opportunity to take ownership of projects and lead them independently. These experiences have helped me grow more confident in my skills.
Responsibilities
I was given a significant level of responsibility during my internship. After initially supporting the team on several marketing campaigns, I was trusted to take the lead on projects myself. For example, I managed our in-store beauty advisor events, coordinating logistics, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring smooth execution on the day of the event. I was also involved in planning and running consumer-facing experiential marketing activations, where I contributed to the creative development and worked closely with the commercial and external agencies.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance throughout my internship. Whenever I encountered something unfamiliar, I made sure to ask questions, and the team was always approachable and willing to explain things clearly. Their support helped me quickly adapt to real-world marketing work.
Culture
The company culture is very positive and inclusive. Everyone is friendly, approachable, and always willing to help, which made it much easier for me to settle in and feel comfortable asking questions. I also appreciated that it was easy to share my opinions鈥攖eam members were open to feedback, and my suggestions were often taken on board, which made me feel valued and heard.
Your Impressions
I truly enjoyed every moment of my internship at Maybelline. It was an incredibly rewarding experience where I was constantly learning, challenged in meaningful ways, and surrounded by a supportive and inspiring team.
Yes
My advice for others applying to L鈥橭r茅al would be: don鈥檛 be afraid to speak up and share your thoughts. Also, always ask questions whenever something isn鈥檛 clear鈥攂eing curious and proactive will help you to learn and grow.
