Overview
Performing systems analysis on complex systems across a platform whilst ensuring verification and validation of requiremnts
Skills
Systems engineering knowledge, communication skills, networking abilities, time management and teamworking skills are the key skills I have learnt/improved upon
Responsibilities
Yes, initially there was a lot of training, but steadily as I became more capable and was ready I was given work to push me and develop my abilities and understanding
Support & Guidance
A lot, there was initial training and continuous education throughout depending on the project I was assigned to. I was assigned a buddy so if I had any questions I could go to them and they would help me as much as possible.
Culture
I enjoyed it, the people here are friendly and make you feel like apart of the team. The Early Careers community is excellent, putting on a range of socials so everyone can participate and make friends through work, outside of work.
Your Impressions
I was never sad on my placement, there were stressful times, but there was always someone to talk to and the work was very interesting and meaningful
Yes
I really enjoyed Maritime Services personally and being based in Portsmouth. With this placement there are lots of opportunities to get involved with a range of projects and develop yourself, it is up to you to go the extra mile and get involved in projects which you find interesting.
