Overview
On day one, we were given multiple talks by company employees of EY to gain insight into the day-to-day workload and culture, including from women and people who work in Tax. On day two, we learnt more about the skills needed to be an excellent candidate, and also we were given interview and application tips, allowing us to be more supported in our future application and conversation to a summer internship.
Skills
I have learnt fully the importance of collaboration and relationship building l. I have also felt gained confidence in such a short space of time to meet new people, ask questions and voice my opinions as it felt like such an open environment at EY. Through the assessment tips I also think I am developing my analytical abilities through brining my own knowledge into group discussions.
Business Insight
It was very insightful to learn more about my own service line, Tax. I wish there was a little more detail given and also more of a focus on Tax itself, as there were no panelists on either day that worked in Tax. I also wish we had slightly more insight into the other service lines.
Culture
The culture is very welcoming and friendly. I was encouraged to ask questions and felt like my voice was heard while being given good advice in response to my questions.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed the insight. I felt like I learnt a lot about the possibilities of much future, and never once did I feel awkward or nervous.
Yes
Come into the experience open minded and take lots of notes. Do not be scarred or worried as everyone is very friendly and no question is stupid. And also enjoy it and learn lots
