Overview
Simulating & Modelling systems and subsystems. Receiving models and implementing them into overall product systems models. Problem solving to fix issues arising from different departments.
Skills
Developed my simulation & modelling skills on MATLAB and Simulink. Learnt to code and fix C++ code. Learnt a lot about systems engineering skills, stakeholder management, scrum mastering, and model-based design approaches.
Responsibilities
Yes. I was given an entire project that would become my responsibility to develop and maintain.
Support & Guidance
Tons and tons of training. Support was always there and senior engineers of the team didn't hesitate to try and provide as much help as they can. Colleagues are absolute top notch, and the most impressive thing among all the products and machine is really the brains of the people working there.
Culture
Very relaxed socially, but serious about their work and emphasising logic over anything. Company is very supportive of any personal development opportunities for 西瓜视频s placement as well. Social atmosphere really friendly. I was able to explore other departments and even apply to work with them on my return if I fancied them more, so there's loads of opportunities to explore what you like at MBDA.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable placement which gave me a lot of skill as a 西瓜视频 that many of my peers, even those that went into industrial placement (mainly within the automative industry and F1), do not have, which gives me a lot more skills. Impressive products that make a difference. There are some lows as well, the job can be tough at times, but all jobs are like that at times. Thoroughly enjoyed it otherwise.
Yes
Don't be shy showing your thought process when they ask you a question during the interview, and make sure to highlight the key skills that led you to your answer. Be a team player.
