Overview
- Getting to know the business and the role - Get up to speed with the financial markets and the news - Work out presentations and projects - Weekly sessions to hear from senior people and to learn about other divisions
Skills
- Largely developed and improved my interpersonal skills by networking in a virtual environment - Made use of academic knowledge in a practical context - Many opportunities to learn new skills given large online learning material from UBS
Responsibilities
- As the role is in a heavily regulated environment it is not feasible to get much responsibility during the internship without passing the required regulatory exams
Support & Guidance
- the support and guidance was incredibly big and very genuine - everyone tried to make time to explain the main concepts and answer any questions one might have
Culture
- very friendly and genuinely nice culture and atmosphere - right balance between working efficiently and hard and having regular chats about other topics outside of work
Your Impressions
- Enjoyed every bit of it (even though it was virtual due to COVID) - Perfect combination of challenging environment, but also very accommodative - Great opportunity with the rotational structure to get to know different aspects within Global Markets - Right mix of networking and getting to know people, project work and daily tasks
