Overview
Market research (trends, landscape, peer group) and creating slides for pitchbook such as creating charts to represent financial metrics.
Skills
Yes. I got to learn various tools (excel, powerpoint, Factset, Factiva, etc.). I also got an insight of the workstream of a live deal.
Responsibilities
Yes. I got to be involved in many different projects and my works were actually shown to the clients.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support for my internship. UBS has a buddy system where they team you up with an analyst in the same team. My buddy was super friendly and I was able to ask any questions I had. The team culture is amazing as well, so was able to ask questions to other people too.
Culture
Culture is amazing. People value diversity and different backgrounds. They also try to support juniors as much as they can as you will definitely feel welcomed when you join.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the whole programme. It was definitely intense, with long working hours but I have learned a lot as a result. A steep learning curve, but very worthwhile.
Yes
Research about the company and the industry you are joining. Good to have wide commercial knowledge!
