    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • In terms of an online internship, I think that the insight week was very enjoyable. We heard from a range of speakers from different divisions within the bank, which meant that a lot of content was covered within the week. The duration of the internship each day was also well thought out, to ensure it was as engaging as possible. But it was even better in previous internships when we could go into the office and be fully immersed into the company.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • During the insight programme and prior to, I felt well prepared and valued. I was given frequent updates leading up to the insight programme and during the programme I felt that the firm was welcoming and genuinely happy to have me and the other interns with them for the week. Since completing the insight programme, I have informed about upcoming opportunities at the firm and invited to webinar events to help further me skills and learn more about the banking world.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was given a good amount of support before the programme began, as we received a schedule of the week which showed what we would be doing, which speakers we would be listening to etc. Also, we were kept well up to date with changes that needed to be made due to the corona virus, which meant the Spring Week had to be online. We were also given opportunity's to ask any questions during and after the insight week.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed will help me beyond my studies as they helped prepare me for the real world of work. We were taught what actually happens in day to day life at a banking firm. More than just theories you learn in education. It also showed how what I have been learning in my current degree is transferable to many job roles. Subsequently, some of the things learnt on the insight programme are relevant to my degree.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight programme was structured clearly and coherently. There was an overall host who ensured everything was running om track and different time slots for each speaker. There was opportunity's to follow up with speakers if we ran out of time, which ensured we could have any questions answered whilst still keeping to good time management. The insight programme ran from early morning to around mid day, which meant there was the right amount of information to stay engaged and informed.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was welcoming and informative. We were given alot of information which made it quite an educational and proactive atmosphere, as each speaker would bring new information. To improve the atmosphere of the insight programme further, it could have been made even more interactive, so that it felt more like a discussion or work place rather then just listening to new information and asking questions about what we had just listening to from the speakers.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • This insight programme was my third time working with the firm and once again feel like I have developed my skills and knowledge even more. The firm has really invested in my career, ensuring I am well prepared and informed. The interview and assessment tips have given my an advantage in my applications which has naturally made me feel more confident. I felt like the firm genuinely want me to do well and be part of their team/community.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The Speakers gave comprehensive accounts of what it is like to work in their roles, explaining what their roles consist of, the types of things they due, the culture of the company, the types of team they are in, working hours etc. I think it is difficult to fully understand the company without physically being in the offices. However, the culture was still clearly shown online and the support available was shown consistently throughout and after the insight programme.

    3/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Each employee at the firm seemed to be proud of the culture. Even without directly saying it, it was clear that the culture was one that promotes team work, collaboration, diversity of thought and drive to be the best. All the speakers were well educated and the training that we received showed how the firm ensures that you are well prepared for your role. Even without being in the offices, it was clear to understand the culture of the company.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The insight programme allowed me to gain further insight on the different divisions, and what each role in those divisions would entail. This was helpful as I could see which role my skill set and personality would be best suited to. Also, which skills I needed to work on and develop more so that I can put myself in the best position when starting full time work after I graduate from university and continue on my career path.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were significant opportunties to network with other people on the insight programme aswell as employees and the firm and recruiters. Although, it was different and it my opinion more difficult to built a proper rapport with someone on a big zoom call. Maybe breakout rooms where we could network in smaller groups would have allowed us to make better connections. However, there was opportunity to follow up and keep in contact with employees at the firm.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
