    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was a very stimulating experience, discovering fully the world of finance, meeting fellow "non-finance" Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs as well as professionals. The trainings left me with a complete and detailed understanding of the subjects as well as extra material to cover at home, which I find very interesting to study during my extra time.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everything was made for us to feel valued. From the realization that the process is very selective and competitive to the welcome and activities. Presented with seniors of the firm, we felt honored they gave up of their time at work to come talk to us about their jobs and make us feel reassured.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The recruitment team provided us with constant support throughout the insight week. All questions were answered in a very positive, complete and helpful way. As for the guidance concerning people we networked with, it was extremely useful, personalized, and thought through. Fellow Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs were also very supportive, ensuring we all felt at our place during the week.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The communication skills I have developed we help me be more confident when I interact with people, attend networking events and meet professionals. I will apply the interview skills we were taught in 2 workshops to my future interviews or in any career oriented meeting or presentation at university and in front of people.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The timetable was very structured and offered to cover all ranges of divisions of the firm. The trainings were very detailed in helping us discover as well as understand major concepts in finance and develop skills of analysis of those concepts. The networking events were perfectly well placed so that we could use the networking skills we had learnt.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The recruitment team as well as other J.P. Morgan employees we were put in contact with were all welcoming and caring. The general J.P. Morgan atmosphere seemed to reflect the good ethics of the firm, and this was also felt amongst the fellow Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs. It was ensured all felt included.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The personal training was extremely complete. It was based on us having no knowledge in finance and proceeded to make us learn and understand basics and fundamentals of the subject in a limited amount of time and in a fun, understandable and very interesting way. The time and money invested both by people leaving their jobs to come talk to us and the firm in general is huge.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We were immersed in the firm to feel what it would be like to work for them. From the people who came and talked to us about their jobs, each from a different division to the people at the networking events, also coming from various sectors of the bank, I had a clear understanding of the roles available at J.P. Morgan.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It was emphasized upon that the company is very oriented towards reducing the gender and gender-pay gap, and including people form all backgrounds, minorities and under-represented groups. It was also important for the firm to employ people from various horizons as they strongly believe diversity is the key to success.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I could very much see myself working for the firm as I agree with their ethics, their culture and very much enjoy the world of finance. Coming from a non-finance background, I was delighted to meet people coming from various backgrounds who had the position I might aspire to and am interested in reaching.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Despite not having been able to book my tickets through their system, I was reimbursed fully my Eurostar tickets. My tube and accommodation expenses were not covered however I was not staying at the J.P. Morgan accommodation (which they offered to pay for, for the people staying there) and didn't get their travel card.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We had a first opportunity to network with the fellow Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs on the first day of the insight. It was a very enriching experience. We then had a networking event with Analysts from the firm and a third networking lunch with seniors. All were extremely interesting and made discovering the firm in a different way even more accessible.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking opportunities were very enriching. Having the possibility to talk to people who took time out of their work to talk about their job, give advice and tips for interviews, different perspectives on their careers or talk about their formation and their background was very helpful. Being able to develop communication skills was also key.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, I was able to discover all sorts of very interesting activities people got involved in to maintain a balanced lifestyle and get better at their jobs. The J.P. Morgan gym is a key element in the firm enabling people to relax throughout their day at work and I feel it is rewarding.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I definitely would recommend it.
