The Role
I really enjoyed the whole internship experience. I learned a lot during my work and everyone was very friendly and willing to help me develop. The internship was very well run by campus recruitment with lots of events put on for all of the interns including speaker sessions, teach ins, quizzes and socials.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. They were all very friendly and willing to let me sit with them and answer any of my questions during the internship. This included those not directly in my team as well. My responsibilities increased over the summer and I felt trusted by my colleagues because they were giving me important work.
Generally I was very busy without being overwhelmed. This made the days goes quickly and meant I wasn’t bored during the internship. The work on my desk was interesting and challenging. I had several daily tasks but also longer projects to work on when there was time. There were also intern events that made each day quite varied.
I was given a very good level of responsibility that grew during the summer as I learned more and became more competent. This included daily emails as well as creating marketing products that were to be used in meetings. My colleagues were very good at making sure I had a good level of work to do and stretching me further.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was lively, friendly and a very productive work environment. Although everyone was working hard it was collaborative so the office was never quiet. The open plan office meant it was easy to talk to put from other teams and all levels of seniority. Everyone was very friendly and happy to answer questions.
The internship was extremely well organised by campus recruitment. We had an induction day and then a week of training before starting on our desks. During the internship there were many extra events that were put on for us. Campus recruitment were very helpful at answering any questions before and during the internship.
The company invested a lot in the interns training and development. After the initial induction day we had four days of training before starting work. Additionally in the first week we had three extra training sessions to learn about applications useful for the job. The during the internship there were teach ins, speaker sessions and quizzes so our development continued.

The future prospects are very good at the company. There are so many different roles and a very well organised graduate scheme that invests a lot in training. There is a clear way to progress through the firm and also great opportunities for mobility. Movement across roles and departments in the company as well as to different offices around the world is very possible.
The Culture
There was a very good social scene between all of the interns. There were lots of interns and several organised events to help us meet each other and socialise. The training week was with interns in the same division of the company and provided a great way to get to know each other. There were socials organised by campus recruitment throughout the internship which was a good way to meet interns in different divisions.
Working in London meant that there was a very vibrant and varied nightlife. As well as lots of things to do and see at the weekends. In canary wharf itself there are many restaurants and bars that are open until late. There were also a series of free music events and concerts organised in canary wharf.
