    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A great deal. I had a tremendous time over the summer, learnt a lot and made long-lasting friendships.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A great deal. Feedback was provided very frequently and it was encouraged to ask for it. My team were very vocal when thanking me for my contributions, which felt great and spurred me on to try and do even better going forward.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We were given a lot of mentorship opportunities. These mentors were sometimes very senior and it is shocking how much time they dedicated to us interns to provide guidance. Everyone else was always willing to spare their time and advice.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy throughout the summer! It was non-stop but the rush felt amazing. Days flew by.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was put on several client calls and given direct client-facing work.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed will help me a lot in my studies when it comes to working with people, project management and professionalism.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Serious and focussed on the job at hand yet very open and not at all sterile.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • HR did a fantastic job organizing us into respective teams. I don't think anyone was unhappy with their team placements. Countless senior networking opportunities as well as events with firmwide interns were organised.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • A lot. 1 week of technical training was provided at the start, which everything covered being directly relevant for the internship. Also, support Excel sessions were organized throughout the internship and we were able to attend when we felt it necessary. In that sense we were fully equipped to focus on our internships and do our best.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    International Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Healthcare/Dental

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It was a pipeline program and the conditions for performing well and being considered for the full-time program were explained very clearly.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs/colleagues?
  • Yes, very. This was encouraged and people were very friendly.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is pricey but it was in no way a burden.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Canary Wharf is not the area to go out but offers a wide range of restaurants and bars. The after-work social scene is well established.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A lot, interns made a great job to organize events / hang outs / dinners / nights out.

    5/5
