The Role
I enjoyed my internship very much as it gave me the possibility to improve many transferable skills. For example, I am improved my communication skills. I also enjoyed it because it gave me the opportunities to meet many people inside the company who were very inspiring and helped me learn more about how the company works.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. Whenever, I would complete a task they would always be thankful and appreciative of me finishing the work in time. They were also very appreciative of my qualities and my commitment to work. They believed I have good skills that I could have applied to the job and helped me develop them. They always gave me constructive feedback because they really wanted me to improve so that I could be a good candidate for the graduate scheme.
I was assigned a manager, a supervisor and a buddy. They were all very helpful. They helped me with the tasks I was assigned. They were always willing to answer my questions and give me constructive feedback. They also helped me with my presentations and feedback forms. They were willing to help me in any scenario and they would support me even I would do mistakes.
I was always very busy. I had a lot of training do for the company. Additionally, the manager assigned me other training to improve my knowledge of accounting. I was assigned different projects through the course of the internship and for each one I had specific deadline to meet. Moreover, during the day I would be busy with day-to-day tasks of the team. Sometimes I would also help other team with work if they needed help with their deliverables.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility. I could not directly answer or call clients. However, I was able to check important reports and send them to the appropriate team. This of course requires a lot of attention because you need to avoid any data breaches. I was also asked to send emails periodically to a particular team outside the company. This required me to look daily at the timetable to check what was due that day and to be careful sending data to third party outside the company.
my degree subject is different from the nature of my internship. However during the internship I had the chance to improve many skills: I did presentations, I learn better how to use excel, I also improve the way in which I manage my time and deal with emails. I especially gained experience on how to communicate effectively and on how to organize effective meetings. These are skills that I can use during my last year of uni and at my future job.
The Company
The office atmosphere is great. Everyone is very respectful toward the colleagues. There is no fear of the authority. VP collaborates and help the analysts and associate. They are very willing to answer their questions and help them. There are people from all over the world and they all help each other when needed.
The internship was organized very well. we would always receive weekly email updates about what needed to be done. We would also be contacted several time both as a group and individually before an important event or meeting. we received many useful leaflets and all the assistance to set up our accounts. They also organized social events for us so that we could network.
They spent a lot of time teaching me about the key functions of my team and the other teams and how they collaborate. they would always ask me about my interest and help me finding tasks or team that I could speak to if I wanted further information. They also organized a career fair where you could get the chance to receive very useful career advice from very expert people.

In addition the company would provide free coffee and fruit and snacks during the day. There were also discount of gym facilities. The mean of transport were expensive tough and very busy and slow.
