About You
I really enjoyed my time at J.P.Morgan. I had the opportunity to meet like minded individuals and employees of various disciplines. The insight week was incredible, valuable and memorable. I feel as though I learned a lot from my time there and cannot wait to return next summer (fingers crossed). The whole team was very welcoming and encouraging, there was no such thing as a silly question.
During my time at J.P.Morgan, I felt very valued and important. Our mentors were very accommodating and made me feel comfortable enough to ask any questions. They helped me understand what J.P.Morgan does as a company and what role I could potentially play in the diverse bank. When making a suggestion, my thoughts and ideas were listened to appropriately. The team gave me fantastic feedback and constructive criticism.
During the insight week I received a lot of support. I was given the reassurance that I could ask for help at any point and not to hesitate to ask questions. During the networking events, the senior employees were very welcoming and humble. They were not unapproachable and gave us an in-depth insight into their daily lives at the bank. I was given a lot of feedback from the assessment task, which I found very useful and will be taking on board.
I will use the networking skills that we were taught by our mentors. This skill is very useful in managing your network and becoming a better public speaker and presenter. Learning how to network has built up my confidence, and I can use this skill in my everyday life at university. I also learnt how to manage my time well and how to prioritize effectively and efficiently. The bank also taught me how to present my ideas and thoughts in a concise and coherent manner.
The Company
I believe that the insight week was very well structured. The timetable was set efficiently with an adequate amount of breaks, networking sessions and insight sessions. The only thing that I'd alter is how long each insight speaker is allowed to talk, some of them tended to repeat themselves as the hour was too long to give a broad overview of their sector, Nevertheless I believe that the week was structured very well and would do it all again in an instant.
The atmosphere during my insight week was indescribable. The people that I met were phenomenal. They were all at great universities, studying the most interesting subjects and had unbelievable life stories to share. I found the atmosphere during my insight week very inspiring and motivating; hearing what my peers are doing with their lives made me want to do more. The atmosphere at the bank among the mentors, the supervisors and the employees was very encouraging. The bank carries an atmosphere and philosophy of meritocracy and mobility.
The company helped a lot in terms of my confidence levels and my presentation skills.
The insight week helped me a lot in terms of understanding what my future at the bank would be like.
the culture at J.P.Morgan is very free. Anyone from any division can move around and test out various roles. The mobility there is incredible
