About You
The whole insight was highly useful and educational. Over the 3 days at J.P Morgan we were given a feel of how it would be to work for such a prestigious company as well as giving an idea of the sector i would like to apply for. The whole program was a great experience and i would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking to apply and would like some more guidance.
From the beginning of the insight to the end of it we were made to feel part of the time, everyone was easy to approach and people were always on hand to greet you and answer any questions you had. we were fully reimbursed for any travel costs and accommodation was provided by the company, there was an opportunity to be fast tracked for a summer internship but only if you made an effort to really build relationships and stand out this was easily done through the two networking events.
Any question i had was answered by the team, Clare and Dolly were lovely to meet and it was so nice that we got on really well, they were always there for any questions i had such as roles in operations as i didn't want to go into the technology side. there was also lots of guidance about the application process and what to expect at the next steps.
The information i received and skills acquired will definitely assist me with future assessment centres and interviews. The importance of business and technology awareness was also stressed to us and this is definitely something I will improve on. This insight has now really motivated me to work harder towards my degree to get the best possible outcome in order to get a job in one of dream companies.
The Company
Considering the insight was only three days i believe we covered a lot of topics from which a lot of information was gained, we had a tour of the office as well as work shadowing fellow graduates, which lasted slightly longer than expected. the only thing i would say is that although it was informative, it would've been nice to have shorter days as it got pretty draining towards the end, but other than that i really enjoyed it.
I absolutely loved meeting new people, everyone was very friendly and approachable and there was a lot of time given to network with everyone. We had a nice lunch out which let us get comfortable and get to know more about where everyone came from.
We did not go to much into personal training and development however were given tips on how to succeed and get a job at a place like J.P Morgan, these tips were emphasised on during the whole insight week
This was probably the most valuable thing i've done and it has highly motivated me in working harder to get the future career path of my choice. I went there for Spring in technology but i have now chosen i would rather go into operations as it fits my personality better.
Everything Else
hotel and travel was paid for
There was a lot of time to network on the 1st evening where had networking drinks with the recruiters and insight Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs. This was a great chance to not only meet the others but to find out some more information. we also had another networking event with graduates over lunch in the second evening which was helpful as we were able to ask question relating to a specific role
As my insight was in bournemouth which is right next to the beach, there are a lot of water sports or activities that you can do in your spare time. the company also has a few unions and societies which are generally there for the enjoyment of staff.
I've already recommended this to all my friends and they're thinking to apply for it next year.
