About You
Was a great way to learn more about the company
They are clearly looking for future analysts, so in that sense you feel like they take you seriously as you could be working for some of the people you meet within 2 years
The week was planned meticulously. This meant we were guided the entire time, and HR were always on hand to help out whenever needed.
Not for my degree, but beyond yes as I intend to come back to the firm and some of the activities we completed were very specific to what you may do at the firm e.g. creating a buy or sell recommendation for a stock (I was in S&T)
The Company
As mentioned, planned to the minute which was great as I never felt time was being wasted
Was excellent - didn't feel a sense of competition and made some great friends who I am still in contact with
We were not given a training period per se, but within a week this is obviously not expected. What was great though, was the activities we did during a couple of the days as they were very specific to what one may do on the job in the future which is helpful as it gives more insight than a speech would.
Deep insight into different teams within in the Market division
Everything Else
Hotel paid, travelcard as well
Excellent networking opportunities. Had a lunch with MDs from the bank, as well as a number of other events with graduates. There was also an asset class speed networking session where we were able to talk to people from all asset classes in a space of just an hour. Finally, on the last day, we were able to network with people who completed the spring week last year.
Felt like I was able to ask anything I wanted which is great, and there was never really an issue of having too many people trying to talk to too few people which everyone will recognise as a fairly infuriating issue at other such events. Furthermore, as the senior members of the business recognise that we could potentially be future employees (compared to at uni events where there is still so many stages before joining the company), they really were happy to organise further meetings
