    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • From the moment I entered the building there was a warm welcome from JP Morgan HR team. We had ample opportunity to network with members of the business from people who were in our places last year to Managing Directors. Every over view was engaging and challenging. I did a combined 9hours 30mins of work shadowing over 2 days. It was a great insight.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone made us feel very welcome whilst always reminding us this was our week and we had to make the most of every opportunity. I felt very valued in the sense that even without the HR team with us whilst shadowing or having lunch in the canteen, everyone I met was eager to help and respectful.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Every 30mins of our days were planned and we never felt idle or like we were wasting time. Our group project had 3 members of the business working on it from Trading, Research and Specialised Sales. We had their numbers if we needed them at any time of planning. During the over view activities, the presenters always walked around and we could call on them at any time to clarify a problem. You were never alone.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The presentation prep with Deborah-Frances White was an amazing session and is a must for the spring week programme. We had so many tips on confidence and presenting that I will take forward in my presentation skills at university e.g. tutorials and 4th year project.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Evey 30mins of the day was planned and had something new and exciting. Both business and social wise. The structure was seamless.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was excitement during the insight. Everyone was eager to ask questions during presentations, network, play the trading game, pitch to members of the Sales business. The energy was great.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot in putting the group project together and making sure we were assigned the professionals working on the case study in real life.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had the opportunity to ask these questions whilst networking as with the 2 work shadowing rotations. There were a lot of over overviews with day to day activities explained in depth and interactive exercises to get us thinking in the same way the presenters have to as part of their day jobs.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight started off with an incredible video showing all if the work JP Morgan had done in the communities worldwide and how they were striving for excellence. We were always reminded to be respectful, thankful and work as a team. I think JP Morgan's culture was imbedded in every activity planned in our schedule - especially the fact that so many people took the time out of the day to help us.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was valuable in letting us now the day to day structure on the desk, what skills we need and how we need to start thinking. I found out a lot about roles I had not considered before and made a lot of notes as to where I could consider applying in the future.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The spring insight week doesn't have a salary and I lived within 30mins of the office on public transport so I didn't have to commute daily on a national rail train or travel abroad and have my plane tickets reimbursed.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were networking events every single day, with our own peers from countries all of the world. We had speed networking sessions, chances to network with the presenters giving the over views, a senior networking lunch and many more opportunities.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We had 2 big social events for Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs only. The first was at a great bar in Canary Wharf and the second was at the Bat and Ball in Stratford. We got to play ping pong all through the evening whilst eating great food. The social events were across the spring week programme for all Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We were given an idea in the start of the spring werk with the over view video but nothing else was mentioned.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes! This is a great way to find out about JP Morgan, learn a lot about a certain sector of banking and meet a lot of people your age who are just as driven and focused as you. Have lots of opportunity to present and work on a real life case study. Paired with interactive Financial Times and presentation skills workshops it was amazing.
