About You
I was a really interesting and surprisingly fun experience. The information they gave us was more about future developments in the company possible relevant to us, there weren't too many extensive presentations. Most of the time we spend working in small teams for small competitions, everyone was really nice, nobody was angry or overly competitive, very enjoyable. Overall it was really fun.
Throughout they made a point of talking to you and answering any questions you wanted to ask, at a spring week that's all you really want. I enjoyed meeting senior members of staff, I was surprised to meet them, and they were happy to talk about plans for the company
While they didn't teach you directly though lessons, they had tips throughout which helped with any challenges you were given. There were many presentations on what they look for. In the group projects you could ask the supervisors for help and at they end they gave you some advice on the assessment centre
We practiced presentation and teamwork skills, both very useful. All the information was well thought out and useful for your skills and career. As I said before, they gave you information for applying to the assessment center. Also they gave you information about what skills you would use while at JP Morgan.
The Company
You were never bored, everything went smoothly. It started with some presentations, these were a little long but still interesting, The next day we had a small competition which lasted the whole day, really fun experience. On the last day it was again group competitions with a couple of small presentations..
Everyone was inquisitive, there to learn and enjoy. It was a really nice atmosphere. Everyone you spoke to was very happy to talk to you. Nobody was too competitive about trying to get to the next stage, everyone was quite chilled out compared to what I was expecting, while staying engaged and hard working in competitions
They got to know you, learnt your skills and weaknesses so if you apply to an internship in future they know more about you. They gave an opportunity to see how you worked in a team environment, while not being too obvious that they were marking you, which allowed you to relax and work together more easily
There was a useful shadowing session with current employees and numerous opportunists about there daily life. The employees I was assigned to were very easy going, happy to talk about there work, side projects and what it was like to work in a big company. They also told us about what it was like to live and work in Bournemouth
During the shadowing event, you were about to get a good feeling of what it is like to work there, the employees were very open about what they liked and what the didn't. There were also opportunity to meet senior members of staff, all of whom were happy to talk about there daily lives and how they run there teams
I gave me a good idea of what it was like to work in JP Morgan. It also let me see a little of what it was like to work in a large organisation, specifically a bank. All the presentations they gave were very useful in understanding the company but the shadowing session in particular was what really told me the most about JP Morgan
Everything Else
So many, they made a real point of this. There were opportunities from the first day to the last to talk to people in all division and all levels of the company. There was nobody you felt you couldn't talk to. They also gave us an opportunity to meet the other spring interns after the end of the first day which was really useful for future team projects
Easy, everyone was very nice, you felt like you could talk to everyone
Yep, during shadowing the employees told us about life in Bournemouth and side projects they have
Definitely
