    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The Spring Week at J.P. Morgan has for sure been one of the most exciting weeks of my life. It was not only because of the chance to get to know the industry from within, the fantastic concordance between my way of doing things and that of the bank, and the people I got to know, but because the environment the HR team managed to create. The experience of working with all those talented, outgoing people coming from the best universities in Europe fostered my willingness to learn and to improve as a person as well. Indeed, the fact that this environment mirrored that of the desks within the different divisions of the firm (at least that was my experience rotating) is the top reason that makes me want to come back during the Summer Internship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • It was an enormous pleasure to see how HR and even the people working in the different divisions of the company put everything on my petitions so that I could get to know the teams I was interested in. Emails, invitations to meetings and "extra rotations" in the Strategy desks was the outcome that exceeded by far my expectations. You could see how talent was enhanced and opportunities flourished for those willing to make the most of the week.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Although in the beginning it was hard to find the teams I was really interested in, during the week many workers from many different divisions answered my questions, emails, received my visits. Thanks to all of this and help from HR, who allowed me to do everything I wanted, I felt absolutely supported in everything I pursued.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not so much assisting me in the degree, but sheding light on what to learn next is the value of my experience at J.P. Morgan. Luckily, some senior workers put my knowledge under test, and advised me on which subjects to improve in. Nothing better than a challenging environment to clear the future path of self-development.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Everything: every coffee break, meeting, talk, networking event, was perfectly coordinated and adjusted to time by HR. Thanks to this tight schedule, we could experience as many things as possible. Such an intense week requires good structuring, and this one was excellent.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • As I mentioned before, the shared general spirit of learning and having a good time, asking accurate questions and always looking beyond while being nice to your colleagues, is something I did appreciate about the other 'springweekers'. It was such a comfortable environment, that replicated that of the daily life in some of the desks in the firm.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Everything was meant to make an impact in our personal way of being. We were able to practise on each set of skills required by each division. Moreover, our mentors and our assigned workers at the rotations acted as advisers as well.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The conversations during the work-shadowing times made the difference in terms of really understanding work at the firm. Thanks to that, now I know the pros and cons of applying for a Summer Internship and working at J.P. Morgan.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Seeing the workers in their natural environment helped me so much in order to understand their way of doing things. Moreover, since the company comes from a series of mergers and acquisitions, you can perceive the slight differences in culture across teams. However, there is a shared culture of effort and excellence, which I share completely.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was helpful insomuch it provided me with the information I needed about how my career could develop in Financial Markets. However, more opportunities exist and, even though J.P. Morgan is the top one priority right now, I am willing to see more. I will need further experience during the Summer Internship to get to really know the company from within.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Everything was correctly provided by the firm making this week a fairly comfortable experience.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were plenty, very well organised by HR. People were fairly open-minded as well, so the networking was one of the things I enjoyed the most during the week.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Diverse in types of activities, which provided us with the opportunity of getting to know the different aspects of our senior people and our colleagues.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Indeed, I got to know about their hobbies, their business trips, the different activities they engage in during the weekends, etc. They were honest about their free time, as well as about working hours and their experience during the day.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Although many comments I received are private and I will by no means disclose them, the general notion about the lifestyle of the workers surely is recommendable.
