About You
The Insight Week in Financial Markets, which I attended, was great. You had the opportunity to meet with teams from every sector, to network and shadow team to get an extensive view of the Financial Market sector
Everyone I spoke to was happy to answer my questions, to help me. You have several opportunities to meet a lot of people, from Junior Analysts to MDs, and each and every one treats you the same! I felt respected and welcomed the whole week.
We had meetings before every important moment, to tell us what were the dos and dont's. Moreover, we had a project and a presentation to give at the end of the week, and we had two mentors who took time off to make sure we understood everything and they even attended the session!
It really opened my views on the Financial Market Sector and what sectors my personnality fitted best.
The Company
Everything was so well organized !! Everyone was always on time, and I am amazed on how well structured the insight was.
I really enjoyed myself, was able to ask as many questions as I wanted. People knew how to be professionals and make me feel at ease at the same time. Overall, I felt very welcomed,
A lot: many people took time off, took the time to write some emails, to present to us what they were doing.
We had a lot of people come in to explain what was their job like, and we also had the opportunity to shadow different teams, which gave us an overview for what they did on a daily basis.
I now know that J.P. Morgan hires people who are enthusiastic, like what they do and who are easy-going and approachable.
I know now more about the sectors and which ones interest me more. You really get a full overview of the financial market sector.
Everything Else
The company paid for my travel (plane, Gatwick Express, subway), hotel (appartment with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom), breakfast, lunch (every day at the company) and most of the dinners (during networking events).
We had plenty of opportunities : we had a social networking lunch with MDs, two dinners with all the interns, two 4-hour sessions to shadow...
They were made for us to have fun ! We went to a restaurant with ping pong tables, ate and had a few drinks.
Definitely !
