The Role
The internship exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed it and would only wish it had lasted a couple weeks longer.
There was a very welcoming atmosphere in the firm, though professional. I never felt undervalued or intimidated, people were generally friendly and open and it was easy to make new acquaintances.
Depending on the job and management/supervisor (I had several throughought my placement) I was given support ranging from an ok/decent amount to absolutely great coaching. Generally, if you ask for guidance your supervisors will be more than willing to give it. How well and to what extent they do it depended on the person but I had a very positive experience overall.
Sometimes very busy but hours were never too long.
I was given quite a bit of responsibility - a lot more than I expected. However, I felt like I was eased in to the higher amounts of responsibility which was helpful in making me feel comfortable while learning.
It was a very valuable experience. I feel like I have managed to develop some lifelong skills and acquire a good amount of knowledge in this short period of time - would recommend to anyone considering it!
The Company
Busy, professional, but very positive and relaxed nonetheless.
Generally pretty well, with some things being announced a little too last minute but this was more the exception than the norm.
PwC really invests in its people from the start - as interns we had numerous learning and training opportunities and it seems like these only increase in the next stages of employment.
I have not received news of my offer yet.
The Culture
Yes, group chat and regular drinks/catch ups. It was a fun crowd.
London is generally very expensive.
Good, Embankment Place office is very centrally located.
Yes - annual Summer Ball happening next week at the end of the internship.
