The Role
During the internship, I met some great people and gained a really solid grounding in accounting. A thouroughly enjoyable placement overall.
As soon as I was placed on my first job, I was given challenging assignments and felt like a valuable member of the team.
My managers constantly encouraged me to ask questions and seek advice. This made them very approachable and promoted a good working environement.
This varied from day to day but was generally a good level. I was rarely short of work to do.
Right from my first day, I was expected to communicate with clients and produce dosuments to the standard expected of a PwC employee
Having no financial experience prior to the internship, I now feel compitent in the basic accounting principles. These will provide a solid foundation to build upon in the future.
The Company
My team were fantastic and helped maintain a great work/social balance in the office throughout.
The internship ran like clockwork as expected. I was in regular contact with my people manager and rarely felt like I wa sput out of my depth due the constant on-the-job training that was made available.
The training was fantastic. It comprised of a 3 day residential where the basic accounting principles wete taught and also various self taught sessions using PwC's online learning platform. These 2 approaches, along with the on-the-job experience complimented each other well and ensured that all information taught was constantly being consilidated with experience.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
The great people and scope for progression through the firm make PwC very appealing.
The Culture
There were several social events throughout the internship. I attended 5 a side football, meals out and drinks after work with my fellow interns.
I commuted from home and all mileage was covered - no expense was incurred.
Manchester is a great city for nightlife.
There are almost too many activities to fit into a working week
