The Role
The working environment is great. The people are very welcoming and accepting and ever ready to teach and provide guidance. The peer group was also easy to get along with, hence making the internship more fun.
The seniors do thank you for your efforts and help. They give you the opportunity to do proper work and not just mundane tasks all the time. They also do take the time to get to know you better on a personal level.
The culture at PwC is such that asking questions are expected and they are always ready to provide guidance when you need it. There is no such thing as too many questions, but of coursr consolidate them and ask them all at one go to prevent consistanly disturbing them all the time.
The work load given to me was balanced. I wasn't piled up with work to the point where I would have to stay in the office till very late, and I also wasn't expected to work during the weekends.
The responsibilities I was given grew throughout my placement. Each week I would learn something new. I also had the opportunity to spend 3 days at a client's site and was able to observe the meetings between PwC and the client.
The skills I developed in training would definitely assist my in my degree studies as I am doing a degree related to this internship. I further emphasised the important aspects of my degree and the parts of my degree which I would need to place further emphasis on.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office is very welcoming and friendly. People here are ever ready to teach and help and get to know you better. As this is a smaller office, it makes it easier to mingle with everyone around.
The internship was set up really well. Right from day 1 we were already given access to our personal schedules so we knew which jobs we were booked on and who we would be working with.
The company invested a lot in us. We were given 3 days of classroom training at the start to get us up to date with the relevant knowledge required to perform out work. Besides that, the opportunity to mingle with clients gave us the opportunity to build our brand name too.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
The prospects are very appealing as it is a worldwide organisation. There are various opportunities to transfer within the firm to different service lines, locations and countries, hence giving us the opportunity to see the world.
The Culture
As we were all booked on different jobs, we weren't always in the office at the same time. However, we did meet up once in awhile on Fridays to catch up over dinner and to see how everyone is getting along with their jobs and teams.
