The Role
I really enjoyed the internship. I got a feel of the different types of work that is done in the department, what it would be like to work here. It was definitely an internship that made me realise whether I want to work in AIMS or not.
Everyone in the department has been really friendly. They organised team lunches to get to know the team even before the internship. If I am in doubt, I am always able to ask questions on work and people are very approachable in that way. They also did not undermine me and gave me tasks tha twere interesting and that I would learn from.
My people manager gave me very appropriate advice on how to go about tasks. In general, the people I worked with held regular meetings with me in order to discuss any issues I may have and also to give me feedback so that I can improve my work.
In the initial days, I was not as busy as they gave some time for me to get used to the environment. However, by the end of the internship I have been really busy to the extent that I do not have a free half an hour.
I was given responsibility with client work and internal department realted tasks which I feel were very important . I was allowed to work independently and was able to learn a lot from the responsibilities I was given.
One thing I have learned from this internship is mangaing mutiple tasks, and how to prioritise them in a specific order. I have also learnt to balance work and and life through this. However, there is not much I have learnt to aid me with the content of my course.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is very friendly. However, despite this you will get a lot of work done
The work placement was very well organised as I was kept busy for almost the whole time and given a varitety of tasks to do. Also the type of tasks, I was given ensured I learnt a lot about Actuarial Services
There was not much personal training as this was only an internship. More training is available for graduates
Working from home
The future prospects are very appealing as it is a fantastic place to work for with a fantastic range of opportunities to get involved in. The internship is an opportunity to obtain a job offer for the next year.
The Culture
There area few socials with 西瓜视频s from different divisions. There was not much in terms of the department but this could because this is the holiday season.
Lived at home so no can't comment on cost of living. Being London, socialising can be very expensive with drink prices being very high!
London Nightlife...need I say more
Being in London means there are loads of opportunities to get involved in various things.
