  • I really enjoyed getting an insight into life at PwC.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues as I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship which was really rewarding.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support from my people manager and also from other managers who coached me through my work and offered invaluable guidance.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was reasonably busy on a daily basis but not so much that it overwhelmed me. I had the opportunity to ask for more work but if I didnt want to I would have had to do this.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given enough responsibility that I was able to take control of my work and my learning.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • N/a not related to my degree. However I think the work ethic I obtained from my internship will help me in my final year of study.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was friendly and everyone was approachable. It was not too serious and you were able to have a laugh with colleagues however when it was necessary people were focused on the job which was great to see. There were lots of activites going on like social clubs but also when people brought in home baked cakes it was very friendly.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was incredibly organised. The induction in particular was very organised with different events and speakers coming in to speak to us. The tasks in the induction were incredibly set up which was reassuring to know that PwC invests so much into their interns. The organisation by my people manager was great as she often put time in my diary to catch up. On one occasion I was not booked to a job until late notice which was not great for planning.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested so much time and effort into the internship. It was reassuring to know that they see it as a platform to the graduate scheme so invest a lot from the very first day. The fact they provided us with the same equipment as all collegues and gave us access to the databases really shows the trust they had in us. They really helped us to develop which is great as they see this as the start of a career at PwC.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects within PwC are very appealing, they offer so much to their graduates. They are competative amongst the big four but also the fact that they invest so much in you with your qualifications is very appealing. The salary is very good especially in comparison to other accounting firms. They offer a lot of perks which makes PwC very appealing.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Myself and the other interns were very sociable and we frequently went out on social events. We would always go for friday drinks with all colleagues however we also did things like a pub quiz, went for group meals and even went bowling. Everyone was very friendly and we all got along very well which made our social group very strong. It is great to know that I may be working with this group in the future.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The living cost in the area that I was working in is reasonably expensive however if you compare this to places such as London it is significantly cheaper. Even though rent is more expensive than other areas of the country it is reasonable especially considering what we have been paid. Socialising in the area is not expensive and is reasonably cheap, especially if you know where to go on certain days!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in the area that I worked was great. Having gone to university in the same city as I did my internship in I knew exactly where the best places to go out were. It was lively on friday and saturday nights which is great when you are working from monday to friday. There were even a lot of bars that was great to socialise at if you didnt want to go to a nightclub which some members did not want to do.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a lot of activities to get involved with outside of work that made working for PwC a pleasure. They had activites such as football teams and were in the process of creating a mixed netball team. They often went for drinks outside of work which was great to get involved with. They also have many activites to get involved with local schools which graduates were able to do.
