The Role
I really enjoyed working at Pwc for the internship - everyone was really friendly and helpful, and there was a lot arranged for us outside of regular work. It gave me a valuable insight into what it would be like to get a job with PwC and, in fact, made me want to get one.
Although the work I was given was the most basic, I was very much aware of the amount of time my doing it saved the other memebers of my team. They were very willing to help me and encouraging while I was working with them. They were really friendly in a out of work capacity and we ate lunch together almost every day.
My whole team, regarless of their personal seniority were very generous with their time and helped me a lot with my work and also in answering queries I had that werent directly related to the work. My people manager made an obvious effort to help me and ensure that I was enjoying my placement which I really appreciated. Everyone was very approachable immediately.
I was very busy almost te entire time though I didnt have to work overtime more than 30-60 mins on any day. There were a couple of days towards the end of my placement where work I was capable of doing had run out but my team made an effort to find things for me to do. I also had work to do each week for the summer internship (ie Webex).
I was given ownership of a few tasks but knew that these would all be checked by my seniors, simply because that is the way the company always does it. I was given the chance to speak directly with the client in meetings. All round I certainly had a lot less responsibility than everyone else but that was to be expected and I was glad that I didnt have to cope with immense pressure.
As a maths 西瓜视频 the skills I learnt during my internship wont really help with my degree. However, should I obtain a job with PwC or another auditing firm I believe what I have learnt will give me a slight edge over those who havent done the internship. In other aspects of life my improved excel skills will definitely help me.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was very relaxed. I slightly preferred working in a client office with fewer people as I felt like I was disturbing fewer people when I asked questions. However, I got used to talking in the main office and everyone was so friendly I knew that so long as my level of noise and length of conversation were reasonable there would be no problem. There was a strong focus on social occasions after work and I could tell many people got on very well with each other.
The training and final week were very well organised and we were made well aware of what would be involved. In my particular case there was some confusion with giving me a job on the first day but this was sorted by the end of the day. There were a couple of days where my time was not used efficiently but overall that was due to the nature of the job, not the organisation of the work placement.
The company spent the whole first week training us. They invested in us and made it really fun by arranging a residential induction, meaning that we had 3 days to learn and also get to know the other interns. it was obvious that a lot of thought and effort had been put into it and I really enjoyed the experience

I really hope to get a graduate job with PwC. I really enjoyed the feeling of being well prepared for the work I was doing and from a social aspect would love to be involved in all that goes on outside of work. It is a company that provides so many options and I hope that in time I will be able to experience more of these.
The Culture
There was a realy good social scene with the oter placement 西瓜视频s. There was a sizable group of us and everyone was keen to make new friends and spend time together both in and out of work. It was nice having other people experiencing similar things and I hope to maintain relationships with many of them after this. The residential induction was key to us meeting and beginning friendships and was really nice in that it allowed us to meet people out of our location/line of service.
I managed to get a reasonably priced place to stay but as it was in London I already expected it to be fairly expensive which it was. However, we recieved good payment from the firm and I managed to save a substantial amount of money for the future.
The nightlife was good and the other people who work at PwC/interns were keen to make the most of it.
Unfortunately some sports activities were limited due to the time of year. However, there were lots of opportunites to meet people out of work, both formally arranged by work and informally arranged among a group of friends. Lunch in the canteen was also a nice social break during the day
