The Role
I enjoyed my internship a lot. Even when the work was less interesting it was a fantastic environment to be in. I've enjoyed everyone I've met and been incredibly interested by the work I've done.
My colleagues have been nothing but welcoming and accomodating of me. The only downside is that not everyone was particularly prepared for me to be there but that seems reasonable
I was given lots of support by my people manager and my buddy. They were there to answer any questions I had with no trouble and always happy to help me look for work, and understand what was expected of me.
The vast majority of the time I had plenty to be getting on with. Of course there were quieter times but during those I had other things to bed doing like required training and development. I never felt I was too busy to manage.
I wasn't given lots of responsibility but there was nothing wrong with that. I was just an intern and the work is quite technical.
There's no doubt that my experience from this internship will be transferable to my studies, my extra curricular activities and any future jobs. It has taught me a great deal about how a corporate office functions. Specifically a client based one.
The Company
The office has found a great balance between professionalism and social activity. Hard work during the day is rewarded with plenty of evening activities to enjoy and everyone seems to get on well and I felt at home very quickly
Very well organised given the fluctuating nature of the work. Could have had a slightly less fluid structure but overall very good.
A lot. The training at the start of the course was quite intensive and everything is geared towards your future potential to contribute to the firm which is excellent. You're treated like a full time employee
Company Parties/Events
There's no doubt I will accept a job offer if I'm given one.
The Culture
All of the interns made a good effort to keep in touch and socialise even when we were all quite separated
Edinburgh isn't the cheapest place in the world but it's not ridiculous
Perhaps not the nighlife of glasgow or London but good nonetheless
