    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work placement was very enjoyable from the start. We had a residential induction for 3 days which was a great opportunity to meet other interns and get an insight into what we would be doing for the next few weeks. In the office, the work was very diverse with a good insight into the work PwC do.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The group of interns in my office got on very well and often met up socially after work. Everyone in the office was very friendly and willing to answer questions and get you involved, as well as trusting you to do the work to a high standard.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I worked with several different managers and all were very friendy, willing to help and answer any questions I had no matter how busy they were. They would often offer for me to sit in on calls and meetings and get me involved as much as they could.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • How busy I was very much depended on how much I looked for work. I often had to be proactive and go to managers to ask for work, but when I did they would always be sure to find something for me to do. Managers would also ask around to see if anyone else had work to do, but as there were several new joiners in the team there was not always loads of work to be done.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As an Intern, as expected I was given a lot of simple tasks to do, a lot of copying and pasting in excel spreadsheets but also emailing clients and making notes on client meetings. They don't expect an intern to have all the technical skills required so don't overwhelm you with responsibility.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt will probably not be directly applicable for my degree and future studies, however they will undoubtedly be used post university. As well as technical skills, I feel my communication and networking skills have improved.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the office is fantastic. Everyone was really welcoming and friendly and got along well, always happy to have a chat and a catch up. People would often go out for lunch and drinks after work happened frequently. Atmosphere in the office was one of the best things about working for PwC.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised - we had 3 days induction at a residential site to give background to PwC and the line of service and then 2 office induction days to meet people in the office and learn how to use the IT systems. The buddy and people manager system was also really good as I always knew who to go to to ask questions.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested in us a significant amount. As well as a full week of induction and training, I had several online training sessions a week to complete. In addition to the structured online training and development, people in the office were always keen to increase my understanding of the company and what they do.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Having spent time in the office, the atmosphere and the varied nature of the work makes working for PwC in the future very appealing. The hours arent too long and there is a lot of trust and flexiblity in how and when you work, people would often come in late or leave early as they were trusted to get the work done. Also the training when you first join is appealing as the firm really invests in grads getting accounting qualifications. However, pay can be less than the other big 4.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • We were really lucky with a good group of interns that got on really well. Several times we went for drinks/nights out towards the end of the week and had many other social events during the week including dinners, pub quiz and bowling. Also met up for lunch every day.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not too bad

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Pretty good

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Some interns joined in playing football and drinks after work.
