The Role
During the internship, I have improved various skills (working in a team, asking for feedback, technical skills, etc.) and learned a lot about working life at PwC.
My colleages were very nice and supportive. If I had a problem or a question, I could always rely on their support.
I was told that I could ask them anything, and was encouraged to do so.
Over the six weeks, there were fluctuations in the amount of work I had. Throughout the internship, I never had the feeling that I was burried in work. However, at some point, I finished all my work with nothing else to do.
Although everything gets quality checked (as we are interns), the work involved real work for clients. It is great to get involved in 'real' project and do work that matters.
The experience of working at PwC, learning about their business culture, their services, their clients, their methododlogy, has been amazing. Highly recommended!
The Company
As I mentioned before, everyone was very nice, genuinely interested and willing to help.
For the first three days, we had a general induction with all UK's PwC interns at a luxurious hotel in Northampton. My schedule for the main part of the internship was mainly set out by my project manager. However, I also got the opportunity to set up meetings (throughout my internship) with other people within my business unit to learn more about their work.
PwC has put a lot of effort in making sure that every intern gets the most out of the time at the company.
At the end of the internship, every intern will hear if he/she gets an offer to come back after he/she graduates from university.
The Culture
Yes, we usually had lunch together.
Living in London is great, but very expensive.
Great, but expensive.
As I mentioned before, there are limited activities organised outside of work. There are Thirsty Thursdays (monthly) and occassionally drinks after work on Friday, but that was it.
