The Role
I thought the internship was very enjoyable. There was lots of support on offer with a friendly team, and the week induction we had at the start was a great way to meet all the other interns, as well as learn more about the company and the office in which we would be working. There could have been more work at times, but otherwise it was a good experience.
The team were really nice and friendly, and helped out if I had any problems. There was a social event after work at least once every week which made it more comfortable to meet everyone in a more relaxed environment.
There was a lot of support available. The week induction was great to ease us in, and then lots of training courses helped us learn more whilst working. My supervisor was really helpful, and was willing to support me with any potential issues.
The work could vary day by day depending on how many other colleagues were in the office. There would be days where I had lots of work to do and then there would be days where work was scarce. It was good to be busy so that I got a good experience of the variety of work on offer.
I was given more responsibilty as the internship progressed. Due to the limited amout of work on offer, I was generally given the relatively basic tasks but on occassion, I was able to do some good data analysis, which was more enjoyable.
I think the skills that I learnt will be really helpful in the future. I was able to work in a team environment, which taught me the importance of teamwork, whilst the importance of networking and keeping in contact with colleagues was something that I developed over the six weeks. The fact that I worked in a big office for 6 weeks also gives me great experience for future work.
The Company
The office atmospere was really good. Given that everyone in the team was really nice and friendly, it made it a much more confortable environment to work in, which made the teamworking much easier when you knew how supportive everyone was.
I think the internship was very well organised. The residential induction we had at Northampton was very well planned, with a clear information guide given to us well in advance. Everything ran really smoothly, and it was great to meet all the other interns before we started work in the office. The training given to us was also well organised to give us lots of time to complete it.
I think that the company invested a lot in our training and development. The residential and office induction that we had at the start of the internship was really helpful to learn more about the company and line of service we would be working in, without being thrown straight into the deep end. The training tasks throughout the internship were also a great way to learn more.
I am hopeful for a job offer from them because they seem a very well run company who offer a great amount of support. Everyone is really friendly, which makes it a much more comfortable environment to work in. The location in central London is also ideal.
The Culture
Yes, the residential induction was a great social scene to meet fellow placement 西瓜视频s. Everyone seemed really friendly, and the social lunch and dinners meant that it was a great chance to meet new people. It was also good to go to lunch with the other placement 西瓜视频s, which made the experience more enjoyable.
I was living and working in London so the costs were rather expensive, but it did make the experience more fun and enjoyable because there is a lot to do in the area, with the office right opposite the London Eye at Embankment.
I went out for drinks in the area, which was fun, but I didn't really go out too late. It was good to meet people in a more relaxed environment, but it could be quite pricey.
Yes, there were several opportunties to get involved in social events after work, when the team went for drinks every Thursday. I would have liked to get involved in some sports events though as these were rather limited.
