The Role
The office and people in it were extremely welcoming and encourgaing, making this experience better than I thought it could be.
My colleagues always ensured
There is a buddy system put in place, always ensuring that if you have questions or are struggling you have some one to go to that will listen and be understanding. This took a lot of pressure off, knowing I always had support from some one.
The days varied, as some were very busy and other days they would struggle a bit to find work for the interns. However, more times than not they managed to give us a good amount of work.
I felt I was given the right amount of responsibility. I was given pieces of work which could have been done by my superiors, yet they allowed me to do this to learn and gain more experience by giving me wok which I would actually be doing if I secured a job,
Everything I have been learning has linked to my course, as Im doing Accounting and Finance. This helped me understand my course better as I could see the theories being put into practise in a real organisation. This has made me more confident in what I am learning at university. Furthermore, understanding how to co-operate in a large firm is a skill which will be beneficial throughout my working life. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of the finance industry.
The Company
The office had a very chilled atmosphere as everyone made the effort with eachother, even at different management levels.
As everyone connected as an office, I felt it was very well run, making everything run smoothly and oragnised.
I feel the firm made sure the interns gained the best experience they could. Shadowing days were set up allowing us to see first hand what occured in a large business with partners and directors. They always made sure we had work to do and would take the time out of their business work schedules to make sure we understood what we were doing.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
This sets you up for a very positive job prospect now as a graduate role could be offered at the end of the placement. However, even if that is not achieved, having this placement on your CV will open a wide range of opportunities.
The Culture
Colleagues made an effort to invited us to any social events that were occuring during our time here. There was football, pub quizs, networking events, casual drinks, curry nights and many more.
Drinks were pretty expensive and driving into work everyday cost quite a bit.
There were many different bars and pubs available but never went out clubbing, however the bars were always busy
yes there were days outs, meals out, pub quizzes, sports events, too name a few.
